Treatment

Ultherapy

Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to place heat at set depths under the skin, including the SMAS layer, with the intent that collagen remodels over the following months. The degree of change varies by individual.

Cha-makase standard

Design before treatment

Every lifting treatment at Tune Clinic begins with Cha-makase design. The physician reads the whole face and marks the intended treatment zones and vectors before deciding the device, settings, shot count or thread direction.

This is a planning method, not a result guarantee. Suitability and the final plan are confirmed after an in-person assessment.

Why it works

01

Depth, not surface

Focused ultrasound is delivered to set depths, commonly 4.5mm at the SMAS and 3.0mm in the dermis, without an incision. The energy is aimed below the surface, which does not make the treatment free of surface effects or of risk.

02

Shot count is a dose

The published tiers of 100, 300, 400, and 600 shots are doses, not package sizes. The number and the placement map are set by the physician against your anatomy, which is why a lower quote is often a lower dose rather than the same treatment at a better price.

03

The result is collagen, so it is slow

Any change comes from collagen remodelling, which develops over months rather than within the same week. How much develops, and when, varies by individual and is reviewed at follow-up rather than promised in advance. A description promising a same-week lift is describing something else.

Treatment FAQ

How is Ultherapy different from Thermage?

Thermage uses monopolar radiofrequency to heat the broad dermal layer for overall tightening, while Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to reach deeper SMAS-level points for lift. Many patients benefit from one or the other; some are advised to combine them. The physician decides based on your skin and goals. Individual results vary.

Is a higher shot count always better?

No. The right number of shots is the number your anatomy needs, and more energy in the wrong plane does not produce more lift. The physician sets the shot count and the placement map at the assessment, and will say if a lower tier is enough.

Can I fly the same day?

Same-day travel may be possible for some people, but tenderness, swelling, medical history and the length of the flight all matter. Share your itinerary so the physician can advise on your own plan.

Published research

What research can and cannot tell us

Microfocused ultrasound with visualization for facial and neck laxity. It does not cover this clinic's device generation, its shot tiers or its treatment protocol.

A small, uncontrolled study of microfocused ultrasound with visualization reported improvement in facial and neck laxity, but it cannot predict your result or how long any change will last.

Twenty participants with no control group. At one year, blinded assessors rated 6 of 14 evaluable participants as improved, well below the unblinded and self-reported ratings. Follow-up lasting a year is not a promise of a year of benefit.
