- Protect hollow cheeks. Hollow areas are marked and kept away from the energy. Tightening does not replace lost volume.
- Two depths, mixed by area. The 4.5 mm and 3.0 mm transducers are combined zone by zone under ultrasound view, not one depth everywhere.
- Energy follows skin thickness. Thinner skin at the temple and in front of the ear gets less; thicker skin along the jaw can take more.

Depth, dose and gradual change
Micro-focused ultrasound is delivered at set depths, commonly 4.5mm at the SMAS and 3.0mm in the dermis, without an incision. Aiming below the surface does not make the treatment free of surface effects or of risk.
The tiers of 100, 300, 400 and 600 shots are doses, not package sizes. The physician sets the number and the placement against your anatomy. Prices only compare fairly at the same shot count.
Collagen remodelling develops over months. How much develops, and when, varies and is reviewed at follow-up. A same-week lift is not what this treatment does.

How is Ultherapy different from Thermage?
They heat different layers. Thermage uses monopolar radiofrequency to warm a broad area of the dermis. Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to place heat at set depths, including the SMAS. One is not a stronger version of the other.
Some faces suit one, some suit neither, and some are advised to have both. The physician decides after looking at where the looseness actually sits. Individual results vary.
Is a higher shot count always better?
No. The shot count is a dose. The right number is the one your anatomy needs, and more energy in the wrong plane does not add lift. The physician sets the count and the placement map at the assessment and will tell you if a lower tier is enough.
Can I fly home the same day?
Some people do, but it is not automatic. Tenderness, swelling, your medical history and the length of the flight all matter. Send your itinerary before you book so the physician can advise on your own plan.
How much does Ultherapy hurt?
Most people feel it. Each pulse is a short, deep ache or a hot prickle, and it is usually strongest over bone, such as the jawline and temples. Numbing options are discussed at consultation. During treatment you can ask the physician to pause, and the pace or settings can be adjusted.
What should I send on WhatsApp before booking?
Three things help the physician give you a useful first answer:
- Clear photos of your face in daylight: front, left and right, with no filter.
- Your travel dates and when you fly home.
- Any previous lifting treatments, fillers or threads in the lower face, with rough dates.
From these the physician can say whether Ultherapy is worth planning around your trip. The final decision is made in person.
