What is TenTherma and how does it lift?
TenTherma is a medical lifting device built on monopolar radiofrequency (RF). Energy is delivered into the skin with the intent of heating the dermis so that collagen remodels over the following months. This page does not claim that it reaches a greater depth than other radiofrequency treatments, or that it acts on the SMAS layer. The degree of change varies by individual and is assessed in person.
Why does the customizable tip matter?
Skin thickness and tissue structure differ from area to area. TenTherma offers tips from 0.25 cm to 2 cm, so the physician can match a tip to each zone of the face, neck or body. Tip selection is part of how the treatment is planned; it does not make the treatment safe and does not guarantee a result.
Is there downtime?
Treatment time depends on the area. Temporary flushing, warmth or swelling can occur, and how long it remains visible varies. The physician discusses comfort and schedule considerations before treatment.
Published research
What research can and cannot tell us
Monopolar radiofrequency as a class, for face and neck laxity. This is modality context only and is not evidence of TenTherma's results. It does not cover eye or body treatment, treatment depth, tip selection or the SMAS layer.
A small study of monopolar radiofrequency and microfocused ultrasound reported improvement in facial and neck laxity, but it does not establish results for TenTherma or for any particular treatment plan.
A randomized split-face trial in 20 people followed for six months. Both sides improved with no significant difference between them, which is not evidence that the two treatments are equivalent, and the abstract does not name the commercial devices used.
