Oligio is a monopolar radiofrequency platform that heats the dermis, with collagen remodelling over the following months as the intended response. It is a dermal treatment and is not intended to reach the deeper SMAS plane that ultrasound lifting targets.

Monopolar radiofrequency passes energy through the skin to heat a broad column of dermis in a controlled way. Existing collagen fibres contract in the short term; over the following months the heated tissue remodels and produces new collagen.

Oligio spreads energy over larger zones at moderate depth, which is a different delivery pattern rather than a better one. Comfort and response still vary by person and settings.

Radiofrequency at these settings is applied to the skin layer and is not intended to reach the SMAS, the deeper structural plane that descends with age. If the physician assesses that most of the change you see comes from that plane, a dermal device may not be the right tool, and that is a conversation to have before booking.

Both are monopolar RF platforms targeting the dermis, and at comparable shot counts Oligio is published at roughly half the price on our menu. They are different platforms, so a lower price is not evidence that they are the same treatment, and it is equally not evidence that either performs better. Which one fits is an assessment question, not a price question.
Both platforms use cooling and vibration at the tip, and both can feel hot pulse by pulse. Comfort depends on settings, area, anesthesia and your own sensitivity, so this page does not rank the devices against each other for pain. Comfort measures are planned per patient and discussed before treatment.
Collagen remodelling develops gradually over months rather than within the same week, and how much develops varies by individual. Whether and when to repeat is reassessed at follow-up rather than set as a fixed interval, and duration cannot be promised in advance.
Published research
Monopolar radiofrequency as a class. This is modality context only. It is not evidence of Oligio's results, not evidence that Oligio is equivalent to Thermage, and it does not support the comparison, price, comfort or maintenance statements elsewhere on this page.
A small study of monopolar radiofrequency and microfocused ultrasound reported improvement in facial and neck laxity, but it does not establish results for Oligio or for any particular treatment plan.
A randomized split-face trial in 20 people followed for six months. Both sides improved with no significant difference between them, which is not evidence that the two treatments are equivalent, and the abstract does not name the commercial devices used.
