How this treatment works

Why it works

Heat below the surface

Radio-frequency energy warms the layer under the skin. Depth and settings are adjusted to the area being treated.

A tip module for each area

InMode has several tip modules, including Fractora, BodyFX and MiniFX. The one used depends on the area and what the physician is treating.

Suction while heating

The handpiece draws the skin up and holds it while energy is delivered. This describes how the device is applied, not an established added benefit over radio frequency alone.

Temperature monitoring

Skin temperature is read during treatment so the settings can be adjusted. It is a control measure, not a guarantee of a painless or risk-free session.

Further treatment details

What the device does

InMode for the Body pairs radio-frequency heat with suction. The handpiece lifts the skin into its head and delivers energy into the tissue underneath while it is held there.

It is used for the look of cellulite and for skin that has lost firmness. It is not a weight-loss treatment. If diet, exercise or surgery is the real answer for your concern, the physician will say so.

Areas We Treat

The physician assesses these areas for it, each with its own tip module.

Abdomen

Flanks

Thighs

Upper Arms

Back

What the physician checks first

How loose the skin is

Mild to moderate looseness is what this device is used for. Skin that hangs in folds is unlikely to change much with heat alone.

How much fat sits there

A thick, localized fat pocket may suit a different approach. The physician tells you if it does.

The skin itself

Broken skin, a rash or an infection in the area means waiting until it has healed.

Your medical history

Pregnancy, a pacemaker or a metal implant in the area must be raised before treatment.

Who it suits and who it does not

Usually a reasonable fit

  • Dimpled skin or cellulite on the thighs
  • Skin on the abdomen or upper arms that has started to loosen
  • A defined area you want to work on

Usually not the right fit

  • Wanting to lose weight or a clothing size
  • Pregnancy
  • A pacemaker or a metal implant in the treatment area
  • Broken or infected skin on the area

After the session

The area can stay red, warm and tender for a while, and bruising can appear where the suction held the skin.

Avoid a sauna, a hot bath and hard exercise on the day of treatment.

If a course is planned, the physician sets the interval between sessions.

What we will not promise

Results differ between people. The physician will not promise a size or measurement change.

Physician's FAQ

Is this a fat-loss treatment?

No. It is used for the look of cellulite and skin firmness on a defined area. If your main goal is losing fat, the physician will tell you at consultation and discuss what fits.

Can I exercise or travel afterwards?

Avoid a sauna, a hot bath and hard exercise on the day of treatment. Send us your flight date when you get in touch, and the physician confirms timing for your plan.

Treatment FAQ

How does InMode for the Body work?

The handpiece draws the skin up with suction and delivers radio-frequency energy into the layer underneath, so the tissue is warmed while it is held. The aim is a change in the look of cellulite and in skin firmness on the treated area. The physician chooses the tip module and settings for that area. How much changes differs from person to person, and it does not replace weight loss.

Which body areas can be treated?

We assess the abdomen, flanks, thighs, upper arms and back for it, each with its own tip module. At consultation the physician looks at how loose the skin is and how much fat sits in the area, then tells you whether this device makes sense there or whether another option is worth discussing.

Does it hurt, and what should I plan for afterwards?

Comfort and recovery vary by person and treatment area. Expect heat and a pulling feeling from the suction. Skin temperature is monitored during the session, but that does not make it painless or risk-free. Redness, warmth, tenderness and sometimes bruising can follow. The physician goes through the risks and aftercare for your plan before you decide.

Is one session enough, or do I need a course?

That is decided after the physician sees the area. Some plans are a single visit and some are a course, with the interval set by the physician. Tell us how long you will be in Seoul so the plan fits the time you have.
