What ear filler does
Ear filler places small amounts of filler at the rim of the ear (the helix), the ear root and the earlobe. The aim is to give a flat ear more dimension and change how much of the ear shows from the front.
The plan is drawn against the face as a whole. An ear that is barely visible or looks small for the face changes how the face reads, and the physician designs with that balance in mind.
Why patients ask about it
Ears are often hidden by hair, so they are easy to overlook. When they cannot be seen from the front, or look small, the face can appear wider or less defined.

What are the risks of ear filler?
No injection area is low risk, and the ear is not an exception. Filler carries risks including swelling, bruising, lumpiness, infection and blockage of a blood vessel. The physician reviews your history, explains the risks for your plan and confirms suitability before treating; assessment and technique reduce risk but do not remove it.
Can the filler clump or become asymmetric?
The design is planned against the anatomy of your ear from the start, which is intended to reduce the chance of lumpiness or asymmetry. Neither can be ruled out, so review and a possible adjustment are discussed as part of the plan.
Is a single session enough?
Whether a single session completes your plan depends on your ear shape, the product used and what the physician assesses afterwards. A touch-up is sometimes recommended, and the number of sessions is not fixed in advance.
Does it hurt?
The ear is sensitive. Numbing cream or cooling is used first, and most of the discomfort is short and sharp at the injection points. Tell the physician if you want breaks.
