Who is chin filler for, and who should look at something else?
It suits a chin that sits back or is short for the face, and a lip-to-chin line that folds inward. It is not the answer to a double chin or to loose skin along the jaw; those are usually a fat or laxity problem, and the physician will say so at consultation rather than add volume where it will not help.
What happens in the session?
The physician marks the chin with you sitting up, numbs the area, and places the filler with a cannula or needle in small amounts, checking the profile between passes. Expect about 20 to 30 minutes in the room. You can see the shape before you leave.
Can I fly home the next day?
Usually yes. Swelling and any bruise are at their most visible in the first two to three days, and the final shape settles over about two weeks. If you are in Seoul for only a short stay, say so at consultation so the physician can plan around your flight.
What are the risks?
Filler carries risks including swelling, bruising, lumpiness, asymmetry, infection and, rarely, blockage of a blood vessel. No injection area is without risk, and the chin is not an exception. The physician reviews your history, explains the risks for your plan and confirms suitability before treating; assessment and technique reduce risk but do not remove it.
How long does it last?
Hyaluronic acid filler is absorbed over time. In the chin, which moves less than the lips, a result is commonly visible for 12 to 18 months, but this varies by product, by amount and by individual. It can also be dissolved if you change your mind.
