- Swelling and some tightness are expected afterwards. Less common problems include small dimples at entry points, asymmetry, a thread that can be felt or seen, and infection. The physician explains these before treatment.

When the cheek drops and hollows
As skin loses elasticity, the soft tissue of the cheek slides down. The upper cheek looks flatter, the sides look hollow, and the weight collects lower on the face.
The face can then look wider and more tired, even though there is less volume than before.

No. Threads are inserted through small needle entry points, with no incision to close. It is still a procedure with recovery and risks, and the physician goes through both before treatment.
When will I see a change, and how long does it last?
A lifted position is often visible once swelling settles, which takes days to a couple of weeks. How long the lift holds depends on your skin, age, the threads used and aftercare, and varies by individual. The physician gives you a realistic expectation at consultation.
What risks should I know about?
Swelling, bruising and tightness are common early on. Less often, small dimples at entry points, asymmetry, a thread that can be felt or seen, or infection can occur. Contact the clinic if anything worries you after treatment, including after you fly home.
How soon after a thread lift can I fly home?
